 Philippa Stroud
Parliamentary Spokesman for Sutton, Cheam & Worcester Park
About Philippa
Philippa Stroud, a 41 year-old mother of three, was recently chosen by local Conservatives as their candidate for the next General Election. A former charity founder and chief executive, Philippa has a background in the voluntary sector and is currently the Director of the Centre for Social Justice, a national London-based think tank dedicated to finding new ways of tackling poverty and social breakdown. She is working closely with Iain Duncan Smith, Chairman of the Centre for Social Justice and Conservative leader, David Cameron, to develop policies which support families and help charities to play a greater role in rebuilding communities.
"I am thrilled to have been selected to fight on behalf of the residents of Sutton, Cheam and Worcester Park" commented Philippa. “I want to see the local environment protected from over development, safer streets and youth provision, local healthcare kept local and our excellent schools protected. I will work every day to improve and safeguard the quality of life here.”
David Senior, Chairman of Sutton (at Jan 2007), Cheam and Worcester Park Conservative Association said “Philippa is one of the Conservative Party’s rising stars and cares passionately about the social needs which she has entered public life to address. She will be a fine constituency MP, with a national profile.”
